Updating the address is important whenever your business moves, undergoes restructuring, or when the original entry needs correction.

Google Place ID: A unique identifier from Google Maps that verifies the address. Whippy populates this automatically when selecting an address from Google suggestions.
Channel Types: All channels (phone, email, WhatsApp, Messenger, Instagram) include an address in their overview settings.
Step-by-Step: Update a Channel Address
Open the Channels settings.
Go to Organisation Settings → Channels.
Find the channel you want to update.
Locate the channel in the list and click the three vertical dots in the Actions column.
Select “Edit channel.”
This opens the channel’s configuration page.
Go to the Overview tab.
The Overview tab contains the channel’s name, icon, description, and address.
Update the business address.
Click into the Business address field.
Begin typing the address and select the correct Google Maps suggestion from the dropdown.
The Google Place ID will auto populate once the address is selected.
Save your changes.
Click Update channel details at the bottom of the page to confirm and apply the new address.
Tips and Best Practices
Always choose an address from the Google Maps dropdown to ensure the Place ID is populated correctly.
If Google cannot locate your address, verify formatting or try searching by postcode or building name.
Keep channel addresses aligned across all related channels to maintain consistency.
