"Message Rejected by Recipient Carrier" is an error message you may see when sending an SMS (Short Message Service), indicating that the carrier (or mobile network operator) of the intended recipient has blocked or rejected the message.

There can be several reasons for this:

  1. Recipient's Carrier Has Blocked the Sender: In some cases, the carrier has blocked messages coming from the sender, possibly due to reports of spam or unsolicited messages from that number.

  2. Network Issues: The message could also be rejected due to network congestion or other technical problems with the recipient's carrier.

  3. Recipient Has Blocked the Sender: The recipient themselves may have blocked the sender's number, which would cause the carrier to reject incoming messages.

  4. Recipient's Phone is Off or Out of Service Area: If the recipient's phone is turned off, out of battery, or out of the service area, the carrier may reject the message. However, in many cases, the carrier will instead queue the message for delivery once the phone is available again.

  5. Recipient's Inbox is Full: If the recipient's SMS inbox is full, the carrier may reject incoming messages. This is less common with modern smartphones, but can still occur, particularly in countries where older phone models are more common.

  6. Recipient's Mobile Service is Suspended: If the recipient has not paid their mobile carrier bill, the carrier may suspend services, which could include the ability to receive text messages. In order to resolve this, the recipient would need to pay any outstanding balance with their carrier. Once payment is made, the carrier would typically restore full services to the account, allowing the recipient to receive text messages again.

To resolve this issue, you can try the following steps:

  1. Check the Recipient's Number: First, make sure the recipient's number is correct and in the proper format. Mistyped or improperly formatted numbers can result in failed message delivery.

  2. Contact the Carrier: If the problem persists, the sender or recipient may need to contact their respective carriers to inquire about the issue. The carrier may be able to identify and resolve the problem, especially if it's related to a technical issue or a block on the sender's number.

  3. Ask the Recipient to Check Their Settings & Billing: If possible, the sender can ask the recipient to check whether they've accidentally blocked the sender's number or if their SMS inbox is full.
