Community Guidelines for High-Quality Content
Updated over a month ago

At WiFi Map, we highly value all contributions that enhance the app. To ensure that the information remains useful and high-quality for everyone, our system only accepts content that meets community standards and provides value to users. Below are examples of what constitutes good content, typical reasons why content might not be accepted, and how to resolve any issues.

What Defines High-Quality Content?

Reliable and trusted places

To ensure a place is valuable to WiFi Map users, provide reliable, relevant, and accurate information. Include useful photos and reviews that make it easy for others to locate and use the amenity.

Relevant and effective photos

When adding photos to a place, ensure they are clear, original, and helpful for other users. Photos should provide enough visual detail to help users find and assess amenities, such as WiFi hotspots, public toilets, or drinking fountains.

Key photos for public toilets:

  1. Toilet interior: Capture the cleanliness, condition, and availability of essential amenities like toilet paper, soap, and hand dryers. Be sure to include any other features, such as grab bars, wide doorways, baby changing stations, etc.

  2. Entrance view: Show the exterior of the venue (e.g., café, restaurant) where the toilet is located. For standalone outdoor toilets, include a picture of the toilet structure and any signage that identifies the facility.

  3. Finding the toilet: Help users by providing photos of the surrounding area. This could include paths, signs, or landmarks that make it easy to locate the toilet, whether it's indoors or outdoors.

Key photos for drinking fountains:

  1. Fountain view: Show the full fountain, including the spout and water flow. Highlight any additional features like bottle-filling stations, child/pet-friendly fountains, and other unique aspects.

  2. Surrounding area: Highlight the cleanliness and accessibility of the area around the fountain. Include nearby seating like benches, and note any ramps or other accessibility features.

  3. Finding the drinking water: Include images of paths, signs, or arrows that direct users to the fountain. This could include park maps, street signs, or indoor signage that helps users locate it.

Key photos for WiFi hotspots:

  1. WiFi Zone Atmosphere: Showcase the WiFi area, whether indoor or outdoor, focusing on the comfort and arrangement of seating and tables. Highlight features that enhance work and relaxation, such as lighting, space near power outlets, and any other details that would be useful for visitors.

  2. Finding the WiFi zone: Provide photos of the exterior of the venue (e.g., café, restaurant) where the WiFi is available. For outdoor areas, show the surroundings, including paths, signs, or landmarks that make it easy for users to find the WiFi zone.

Detailed and useful reviews

A review should be detailed, use appropriate language, and offer meaningful feedback. This helps other users find the place and determine whether it’s worth visiting.

Example of a useful review:

  • For WiFi hotspot: "Find the café entrance next to the pharmacy, directly across from the bus stop."

  • For public toilet: "The entrance to the toilet is to the right of the bar counter at the end of the hallway."

  • For drinking fountain: "The drinking fountain is near the park entrance, beside the bike racks."

Reasons why a photo may be blocked:

  • Duplicates: The same photo was uploaded multiple times for a place (e.g., WiFi hotspot). Please keep only one version of the photo and ensure each one is different.

  • Inappropriate content: The photo contains offensive or prohibited material that is not suitable for our platform.

  • Irrelevant content: The photo does not show the place, its interior, or exterior, and therefore does not provide value to other users.

  • Location mismatch: The photo was taken far from the actual place.

  • Edited or downloaded images: The photo must be taken using the phone camera. Photos obtained from external sources (e.g., screenshots, stock images, or downloads from the internet) cannot be accepted.

  • Low quality: The photo is blurry, too dark, or of very low resolution.

  • User complaints: Complaints about photo have been reviewed and accepted by our system.

Reasons why a review may be blocked:

  • Inappropriate language: The review contains offensive or prohibited words that violate our guidelines.

  • Spam or nonsense: Reviews that are too short, lack meaningful content, or do not provide valuable feedback.

  • Location mismatch: The review was submitted when you were far from the place.

  • User complaints: Complaints about review have been reviewed and accepted by our system.

Reasons why a place may be blocked:

  • Inappropriate photos: At least one prohibited, offensive, or unacceptable photo was uploaded when creating the place.

  • Lack of relevant photos: None of the uploaded photos were approved by our system.

  • Multiple blocked photos: The owner of the place added too many photos that do not follow the rules.

  • Owner blocked it: The place owner requested removal.

  • User complaints: Complaints about place have been reviewed and accepted by our system.

What to do if your content is blocked

  • If your review or photo was blocked, you can easily delete it from the place details screen or your profile.

  • If a place you added was blocked due to photos or reviews, simply remove the problematic content. Once this is done, the place will be unlocked and available on the map.

  • If you believe your content was blocked by mistake and you followed all the rules, feel free to reach out to our support team. We’ll be glad to help you.

Thank you for helping make WiFi Map better for everyone!
