Wipster re-encodes all uploaded videos in order to better accommodate varying devices and networks on the reviewer end. We will create a series of lower-resolution proxies in case your stakeholder doesn't have the bandwidth to view an asset in full HD.

Wipster's video player will output a maximum resolution of 1080p, however the original file will always be available for download (for Team Members in the Project Library, or for external reviewers if downloads are enabled on the share link).

If you want to ensure that you and your reviewer are looking at the exact same thing, you may consider adopting the following encoding settings when exporting the video from your editing tool:

  • 960 x 540 or 540 x 960 - Or will be the resolution of the video if it is even lower than these

  • Video

    • H264

    • Max bitrate 4mb/s (will downsize to fit the video if lower)

    • Rate Control Mode : QVBR

    • Scene Change Detect : TRANSITION_DETECTION

    • Quality Tuning Level : SINGLE_PASS_HQ

  • Audio

    • AAC

    • Approximate bit rate 96 kb/s

HD - Only if the video has a dimension larger than 1080

  • 1920 x 1080 or 1080 x 1920

  • Video

    • H264

    • Max bitrate 6mb/s (will downsize to fit the video if lower)

    • Rate Control Mode : QVBR

    • Scene Change Detect : TRANSITION_DETECTION

    • Quality Tuning Level : SINGLE_PASS_HQ

  • Audio

    • AAC

    • Approximate bit rate 96 kb/s
