Comprehensive Guide to Setting Up Your MC-2 Camera with HuntControl

Updated over a week ago

Step 1:(A) Creating a new HuntControl Account

A HuntControl account is required if you wish to use the cellular features of the camera. The camera will send the photos directly to your HuntControl Account in the cloud. From there, the pictures can be sent to you via email or viewed in our apps or on our website.

You can create your HuntControl Account at huntcontrol.com. Click “Create your account” at the top to get started. You can also create your HuntControl account on wiseeyetech.com/subscription/. Choose the amount of cameras on your plan, choose the subscription of your choice (Base, Weekend Warrior, or Trophy Hunter). Next, choose your payment terms (monthly or yearly). Place the subscription in your chart, and check out.

Once you purchase the subscription, you can add your cameras into your HuntControl account from the app or the web version. Download the HuntControl app on the Apple App Store, or the Google Play Store. You can also access HuntControl VIA the browser, huntcontrol.com

Step 1:(B) Adding your MC-2 to an existing HuntControl Account

Visit wiseeyetech.com/my-account and access the subscriptions page. From here, you'll want to upgrade your subscription. Choose the plan you like, the amount of cameras on your plan (Including the one you are currently adding) and the payment term. Once you select the options that fit you best, proceed to checkout. Once you check out with your upgraded subscription, you can then add your MC-2 to your HuntControl Account.

Step 2: Adding your MC-2 to your HuntControl Account

You can add a camera to your account by going to the Cameras page of the website or mobile app, and clicking “+ Camera” button the website, or the “+ Add” button on the apps.

You will need the IMEI number of the camera. This can be found in multiple locations. If you are using a smart device with a camera, you can add the camera to your account by clicking “Scan Barcode” in the app and then scan the IMEI barcode.

The IMEI Number can be found at the bottom of the camera box, the inside of the front panel (located on a white sticker), or by scanning a QR code with the IMEI number can be displayed on the screen by turning the camera to “Setup”, and pressing the Down Arrow. From there, you will see “QR code” and “Info”. Select “QR code”, and you will be able to scan the QR code to add the camera into your HuntControl Account. You can also type in the IMEI numbers into your HuntControl Account to add the camera.

Step 3: Supplying your MC-2 with Power

Insert 8 AA Batteries into the battery compartment of the MC-2. You can also input a 12v External battery, or a Solar Charger into the 12v Input plug located on the bottom of the camera. You can use the AA's and an external battery at the same time for prolonged battery life.

Step 4: Formatting an SD Card in the MC-2

  1. Insert a class 10 SD U3 Card that is 128GB or less in to the SD Card slot.

  2. Turn the camera to “Setup”

  3. Wait for the indicator lights on the Status Panel to illuminate.

  4. If the SD card is bad, or not formatted, the "SD” light will turn red.

  5. Hold down the “Format” button until the "SD” light begins to flash yellow. The "Status” Light and “SD” light should then turn green.

  6. Your SD Card is now formatted and functional.

Step 5: Using the Real Time Camera Connection Feature to Change your Settings

When your camera is on setup, you can change the settings in real time from your HuntControl account. Whether on the App or Browser version of HuntControl, change your settings to whatever you'd like. Once changed, select the SAVE button on the bottom of the screen. Once saved, these settings will instantly take effect. Here are the settings options you will see:

  • Mode - Picture, Video, Pic & Video

  • Multi Shot - Select 1-3 picture burst mode

  • Burst Interval - Select the time between burst mode pictures

  • Video Size - WVGA, 720P, or 1080P Videos sent straight to your account

  • Video Length - Select between 5 or 10 second videos

  • Video FPS - Select between 15 or 30 FPS

  • Night Vision - Set the sensitivity of your IR detection

  • Flash Distance - Select the strength of your IR flash, this depends on how far your target is from your camera

  • Frequency - Select how often your camera sends media to your account

  • Motion Sensitivity - Set the sensitivity of the motion sensor between 1 and 9

Step 6: Taking and Receiving a Test Picture

If you want to ensure that the camera is working properly or has sufficient signal in your location to send an image, you can send a test image from the camera to your HuntControl account.

  1. Turn the camera to the “Setup” Position.

  2. The colored lights on the StatusPanel will begin to blink.

  3. Wait for the camera to acquire cellular signal. (Cell Service Light will display Yellow or Green)

  4. All lights should be solid, no lights should be blinking.

  5. Press the TEST button one time.

  6. The “Status” Light will begin flashing continuously until the picture has been sent to your HuntControl account. If this fails, the light will display Red.

  7. Once the image is sent, the “Status” light will stop blinking and turn to solid green.

Step 7: Mounting and Turning On

Mount your camera to a tree, T-Post, pole, or wherever you may wish. Align the camera to your favored angle and position to where your target may appear. Insure the camera's view is clear of brush, and press the TEST button for one more test picture. Once that test picture has been received by your HuntControl account, and the picture angle looks right, turn the camera to ON and walk away. The camera will begin to take pictures in around 30 seconds.
