Enable the share button
In the Wistia media player, the share menu lets your viewers download, embed, or share your media elsewhere.
To customize the share options on your video, open the "Customize" menu on the media page. In the "Share" tab, toggle the option to "ON".
The "Share" modal contains several options that we can split into two buckets: Wistia sharing and social sharing.
Wistia sharing
Embed (allows viewers access to embed your media on their own site)
Email (allow viewers to email your media)
Download (allow your viewers to download a copy of the video)
Note
The download button is not compatible with audio files.

When clicked, the share button will share the media content on an audience member’s chosen social media account.
X (formerly Twitter) share button
When someone clicks on the "X" button on your media, they’ll be prompted to create a tweet about the link they’re sharing. By default, this is the media title, but you can customize the tweet to align with your brand.
Click the "Configure" option next to the X checkbox, craft your awesome tweet, and click "Done".
Enable the download button
You can also configure the download option to specify a default quality for video downloads. Viewers can download the original file, the SD MP4 asset (the lowest-quality copy we make), or the HD MP4 asset (the highest-quality copy we make). The default is the SD MP4 asset.
Select a quality option and click "Done" to save your changes.
Keep in mind that allowing your users to download any version of your video (especially the higher-quality options) will use up more of your monthly bandwidth allowance. Refer to our bandwidth overview for more tips on cutting down bandwidth consumption.
Link to embeds
You can also use the share buttons to link to a specific page where you’ve embedded your media, instead of the Wistia media page.
In the "Share" customization tab, toggle the setting from "Where the video or audio is embedded" to "A specific page". Type or paste the page URL to which you’d like the social option to link, and don’t forget to save your settings.
Share analytics
Want to see who’s sharing your video? We track share button clicks in your media's engagement analytics.
Click "Show details" on the engagement page to see how many viewers clicked the share button. Those clicks will be logged in the "Actions" row.
