Advanced tips

Expirations

You can create a zap to take an action when a membership ends. You can use this to keep a CRM up to date, or to keep your active members subscribed to an external service like a newsletter, while removing members who expire.

Just use the Expired Membership trigger in step 6. above.

Paused Memberships

When a customer pauses their membership, you'll receive an Expired Membership trigger event on the day they pause, and you'll receive a New Supporter trigger event on the day they resume. The New Supporter event will have a new Membership ID.

Testimonials

Here are tips to help you share testimonials automatically on socials.

1. Add a Filter step to make sure you only post testimonials that you are allowed to share.

2. Here's an example of a good posting template

  • Use Testimonial Short for Twitter, and Testimonial for Facebook, Instagram, or other platforms with no character limit.

  • Use Testimonial Image or Testimonial Image (White) for Instagram. For other platforms, use Testimonial Link and the testimonial image will show up in the social preview!

One-time import

Once the Zap is set up, data is automatically synchronized moving forwards. But you may need to a one-time import of past data.

For supporters, visit to your dashboard > Integrations > CRM and click Export members.

For contacts, visit to your dashboard > Integrations > Newsletter and click Export contacts

Troubleshooting

  • If you get a 401 error when logging in, please retry your email address and password.

  • If you have "trouble finding a sample", please check that you entered the right organization URL. For example, for Hypnotic Records, at https://withfriends.co/hypnotic_records, you should enter: hypnotic_records
