ScreenPal videos can be added anywhere in Schoology where you can edit the HTML code (page, assignment, discussion, quiz). At the end of the rich text editor toolbar, there are two vertical dots. The default view is Visual. The other view you can toggle is HTML.
Navigate to your Schoology course. Expand the folder where the page resides that you want to edit. To the right of the page name, click the gear icon and then click Edit.
In the content area, add text to introduce the video to your students, and explain the relevance to your content (if applicable). Also include the video’s length to help students manage their time. Consider providing questions for students to think about as they view the video.
Additionally, include instructions for students on how to view the video’s closed captions. For example, you could write, “To turn on closed captions, click CC at the bottom of the video player, and then click English.”
Log into ScreenPal (opens in new tab) and navigate to your video library.
Hover over the video you want to add to your Schoology page and click Preview.
Right-click your mouse or cursor and click </> Copy Embed Code.
At the far right of the Schoology rich text editor toolbar, click Switch to HTML.
Place your cursor below your introductory text, and paste in the ScreenPal video’s embed code.
Before you switch back to Visual to continue editing the page, adjust the video’s width and height. Suggested width is 640; suggested height is 360. These numbers will preserve the video’s aspect ratio.
At the far right of the Schoology rich text editor toolbar, click Switch to Visual and continue editing the page, if needed.
Once you’re done editing the page, click Save Changes.
The video will now be displayed on the page. If needed, edit the page again to continue adding content or adjusting the video player size.
You can resize the video player by editing the page, clicking the yellow rectangle, and dragging the corners in or out.
