TEACHER-Adding a ScreenPal video to a Schoology page

This article shows teachers how to add a ScreenPal video to a Schoology page

Navigate to your Schoology course. Expand the folder where the page you want to edit resides. To the right of the page name, click the gear icon and then click Edit.

In the content area, add text to introduce the video to your students and explain the relevance to your content. Include the video’s length to help students manage their time, and let them know the link opens in a new tab. Consider adding reflection questions in your introduction.

Place your cursor below your introductory text, and then click Insert Content from the rich text editor toolbar.

Select ScreenPal from the list of apps. This will open ScreenPal in the Add Materials dialog box.

Select the applicable video from your Videos library.

In the controls at the bottom of the video, click CC, then verify that captions are on and set to English.

Select Captions to ensure they appear in your video. Do NOT select Autoplay.

Click Embed Video.

The video appears as a link in your Schoology page, which students will need to click. The video does not actually become embedded on the page. You can delete the extra return between your introduction and the video link, if desired.

For accessibility, underline the link and set the font size to 16 points. Optionally, change the font color to Blue.

Once you’re done editing the page, click Save Changes.

Test the link in the page to make sure you see the text, “Your students will see the content below.”

If you receive the message, “Your instructor has not shared any content yet,” then select the link on the page again. Select Embed Video a second time. This should resolve the issue. Remember to test the link again.
