This article shows teachers how to adjust migrated assignments, discussions, and assessments in Schoology

Ensure your graded materials have a detailed description and correct due date, point value, category, and grading period. Click the links (bookmarks) to view the steps for Assignments, Discussions (forums), Assessments, and Assessment Instructions/Questions.

Assignments:

To the right of the assignment name, click the gear icon and then click Edit.

Name: Review the assignment name and make any needed edits.

Description: Review the assignment instructions and and make any needed edits. If your assignment instructions refer to any Moodle terminology, adjust your instructions accordingly.

~ REQUIRED: Per eAcademy course requirements, include the amount of time it will take students to complete the assignment in the description. Also include the number of points that can be earned.

REQUIRED - Due date and Time: Set the Due date to match the date in your Moodle course. The time should be set to 11:59 PM to give students plenty of time to complete the assignment.

Point Value: Adjust the number of assignment points to match the points in your Moodle assignment.

Category: From the Category drop-down menu, select Assignments.

Period: From the Period drop-down menu, select the grading period that aligns with the Due date.

Factor and Scale/Rubric: Leave the Factor set at 1.00 and the Scale/Rubric set at Numeric.

Click Save Changes.

Discussions (forums):

To the right of the discussion name, click the gear icon and then click Edit.

Title and Description: Review the discussion title and make any needed edits. Review the discussion description and make any needed edits. If your discussion instructions refer to any Moodle terminology, adjust your instructions accordingly. Students only need to type their answer in a text box to respond to the prompt.

~ REQUIRED: Per eAcademy course requirements, include the amount of time it will take students to complete the discussion in the description. Also include the number of points the student can earn if you are grading the discussion.

REQUIRED - Due date and Time: Set the Due date to match the date in your Moodle course. The time should be set to 11:59 PM to give students plenty of time to complete the discussion.

Grading: Check the box next to Enable Grading. If you aren’t grading the discussion in your Moodle course, then leave the box unchecked.

Point Value: If grading the discussion, enter the number of points to match the points in your Moodle forum.

Assessments

To the right of the assessment name, click the gear icon and then click Edit.

Click Save Changes.

Adjusting the Assessment (Quiz) Instructions and Questions

Expand the folder with your assessment (quiz) and click the assessment name.

Verify that submissions are enabled. Click Setup to adjust the assessment instructions and settings. To adjust the questions to make sure they match what is in your Moodle quiz, remain on the Questions tab.

Instructions: Review your assessment instructions and make any needed edits. If your assessment instructions refer to any Moodle terminology, adjust your instructions accordingly.

Scroll down the list of assessment settings and make any needed edits.

Use the breadcrumb links at the top of the assessment editing page to navigate back to the desired location.
