Written by Sue Soltis

Grading groups allow teachers to group students in their course for group projects, to differentiate learning, to provide accommodations, or to assign specific graded materials to a select group. The grading groups can be displayed as individual groups in your course gradebook.

Creating a grading group

Navigate to your Schoology course.

Select Members from the left navigation menu.

Hover over Organize members into Grading Groups, and then select Add Grading Group.

Group Name: Enter a group name.

Select the student names you would like to include in the group.

Select Create Grading Group.

From your Gradebook, you can choose to view All members or just the group members.

Assignments

At the bottom of the Create Assignment window, select Individually Assign to select your grading group.

In the Assign to: field, begin typing the name of your grading group and select it when it appears. Select Save Changes at the bottom of the Create Assignment window.

Only students in the grading group will be able to view the assignment in your course.
