Best Practices:
Before you start saving your course materials to Resources, create collections for each course or subject area. A collection is a container that stores courses, folders, files, and resources you may want to use again. This enables you to curate your course content before moving it into your courses. Click here to review the resource, Creating a Collection in Schoology Resources.
If you have course materials you plan to overwrite, you should first delete all existing materials in the target semester course. Otherwise, you will have duplicate course materials in the target semester course.
Navigate to your Schoology semester course you want to copy all the materials from.
If not already selected, click Materials from the left navigation menu listed under Course Options.
Next to Add Materials, click Options (1) and then click Save Course to Resources (2). This is also how you can create a backup of your existing course.
Select the collection in which you would like to save a copy of your course materials. If you have not created a collection, you can add the course materials to your Home collection.
(Optional) Select a folder within the collection to which you would like to save your course materials.
Click Submit.
Once the course materials have been saved to your collection, you will receive an email indicating the transfer is complete.
Navigate to your Schoology semester course in which you want to import (copy) the course materials.
Remember: If you have course materials you plan to overwrite, you should first delete all existing materials in the course. Otherwise, you will have duplicate course materials in the target semester course.
Click Add Materials (1), and then click Import from Resources (2).
Locate the course materials (1) and click the course name (2) to open the course folder.
To the left of Title (1), place a check mark to select each item in the course, and then click Import (2).
Confirm your selections and then click Import a second time.
You will get another email once the transfer is complete. Review the updated semester course and make any needed changes (e.g., due dates and grading periods for any graded materials).
