Audio recordings personalize your course and can be used for your course introduction, weekly lesson introductions, or to augment quiz and assignment instructions. You can add an audio recording in Schoology anywhere there is a rich text editor including folders, pages, assignments, assessments, and discussions.

The following media file types can be added to Schoology pages: .mp4, .mp3, .mov, .m4v, .m4a, .avi, .wma, .wmv.

Create an audio recording, add it to your WIU Google Drive folder, and make sure the file permissions are set to Anyone with the link can view. We're going to use an audio recording that we created earlier.

Navigate to your Schoology course. Expand the folder where the page resides that you want to edit. To the right of the page name, click the gear icon and then click Edit.

In the content area, add text to introduce the audio recording to your students, explain the relevance to your content (if applicable), and include the audio recording’s length.

Below your introductory text, place the cursor where you want to insert the audio recording, click Insert Content (1) from the rich text editor toolbar, and then click Google Drive Resource App (2).

NOTE: If you don’t see any items in the folder, you will need to log into your WIU Google Drive account.

Click Options at the top left and then click Account Settings.

Click Sign in with Google and log into your WIU Google Drive account. Your items should now be visible.

Locate your audio recording. Use the Search box at the top right to more quickly locate your audio recording in Google Drive.

Once you locate your audio recording, check the box to the left of the recording’s title. This will enable the Import drop-down menu to appear.

From the Import drop-down menu, click Import Embed.

Once you’re done editing the page, click Save Changes. After you click Save Changes, you’ll be able to see the audio player. If desired, you can resize the audio player by editing the page, clicking the yellow rectangle, and dragging the corners in or out.

The audio player will now be displayed on the page. If needed, edit the page again to continue adding content or adjusting the audio player size.

NOTE: In the image below, the audio player size was significantly reduced.
