A Coach is a district employee who may be a Learning Support Teacher, Special Education Teacher, or a School Counselor and who needs to monitor a student’s progress in eAcademy.
For users to be associated with a student In Genius, they must first have a Coach role, either as a primary or secondary role. Once the Coach role has been created, you can associate a student account to a Coach.
If you need a Coach role added to a user’s existing account or you need a Coach account created, follow the steps below.
Schoology: If students are enrolled in Schoology courses, you can also request that an account be created for the district employee in Schoology.
Accelerate Education and Buzz: If students are enrolled in Accelerate Education courses, you can also request that an Observer account be created for the district employee in Buzz.
STEPS TO REQUEST A COACH ACCOUNT:

After responding to the Help Desk prompts for your email address, name, role, and system, include the following information in your request.
The district employee’s first name, last name, and email address.
The student name(s) that the district employee will need to monitor in Schoology and/or Buzz.
Indicate if the district employee also needs an account in Schoology and/or Buzz.
The Help Desk staff will create the account(s) and send the login information to the district employee. You will be notified to associate the student account(s) to the Coach in Genius.
NOTE: Until you associate a student account to a Coach, the district employee will be able to view all district students in Genius.
