Extras are how you can modify a food item in Woflow. It's important these are set up accurately.
A: In Woflow we've arranged these into 3 types:
Subjects
Prepopulaters
Custom
Subject
The default should be that for 90% of the Extras you need to add to an item, one of the choices in the Subjects type should work.
Using Subject means that you take advantage of the automated styling of the Extra title, depending on the style guide, based on the inputs you provide for min and max selectors.
If you set the min to 0, it'll automatically make the title "Add Subject / Subject Addition" etc.
If you set the min to 2 for example, it'll automatically make the title "Choose Subject / Subject Choice" etc.
If one of the Subjects doesn't work, and you need to create your own, then choose "other*" from the list and add the name in the custom field provided. This will then work as a Subject of your choice while still providing the automated addition/choice to the title.
Example: "Soup" added with a min0/max1 will create "Soup addition".
Prepopulaters
Pre-populated Extras will automatically provide you with the most common defaults, for example, the Egg Prep extra will then give you a list of common ways people request their eggs to be cooked: "Over-easy", "scrambled" etc. You can use these defaults to make you work more efficient.
These are covered in a separate article, you can read more here.
Custom
This should be the least often used type, and should only be used for specific instructions that are more complex than a simple Subject.
You should NOT use Custom to type in "Choose Bread" or similar - you should use a correct Subject, or the Other option and then type in the Subject.
