Sometimes, a valid online food ordering source, such as UberEats or the Merchant’s own website, may block access to some or all of the source. This can occur for a variety of reasons. Read along for recommendations to overcome these blocks!
Delivery Type
Some restaurants may not offer delivery
Resolution: change the delivery type to “Pickup”
Your location may be out of the restaurant’s delivery range
Time-Locked
Online order sources may only be accessible at certain times of the day
You can deduce this by checking the store hours on the source.
Resolution: You can try “Scheduling” or “Preorder” ahead of their open times.
Resolution: Use Incognito/Private Browsing mode on your web browser to hide your time zone.
Resolution: Escalate the task if the menu source is unavailable at the time you are working - the Ops Associate will snooze the task to remove it from queue until it is able to be worked on.
Try a VPN
Location may impact access to certain sources, such as ChowNow and ToastTab
Resolution: use a VPN (Woflow recommends Proton VPN)
Note: you should NOT be entering any personal payment/billing information at any point. You will ONLY be using the free version!
Create an account via https://protonvpn.com/free-vpn (click on “Get ProtonVPN Free”)
Leave the default settings as they are (UDP connection)
Once your account is set up, download the app at https://protonvpn.com/download
Open the app and log in using the credentials you just created!
Once in the app, choose the location corresponding to the locale of the menu source you are transcribing by clicking on the map. For ChowNow, this will be any server in the U.S.
Connect, and open the menu source again. You should now be able to use the website freely!
