A: L and D stand for "Lunch" and "Dinner".

Always* duplicate and separate items listed with a Lunch or Dinner price into two separate categories. Items that have a meal time specification should be separated into different categories, allowing our clients to make the choice of only offering these items at specific times. This applies for Breakfast, Brunch, etc. as well.

*Some clients may want you to keep the items in the same category but list them twice and put "Lunch" or "Dinner" at the end of the item title in order to distinguish them. Please pay close attention to the Menu Instructions column in your assignment sheet to ensure you are following the rules correctly for that particular client. If there are no instructions, please separate them into different categories.

Example:

For this particular menu, you would duplicate each item with the L and D variance and title the categories:

Rice - Lunch

  • Chinese Fried Rice $6.49

  • House Special Fried Rice $7.49

  • Spicy Beef & Shrimp Fried Rice $7.49

Rice - Dinner

  • Chinese Fried Rice $7.49

  • Thai Pineapple Fried Rice $8.49

  • House Special Fried Rice $8.49

  • Spicy Beef & Shrimp Fried Rice $8.49

  • Thai Spicy Chicken Fried Rice $7.99

If the menu is already split into a Lunch Menu and a separate Dinner Menu, create root categories for Lunch and Dinner so that you have the ability to add sub-categories within the two menus! See this article here for how to create a root category.
