My Onboardee Was Accidentally Assigned the W4 & the I-9

I added a new hire and they were assigned the W4 and I-9. This isn't what I wanted. Why did it happen, and how do I fix it?

The federal forms are determined by a field called “Type,” the first selection you make when you add a new onboardee. It typically defaults to Employee/W-2 and is easy to overlook, especially if this is your first time adding a new hire to your WorkBright account.

An employee under this 'type' will receive BOTH the W-4 and I-9, Contractors will only receive the W9, and “Volunteers” will not receive any federal forms.

If you accidentally assigned an onboardee the W-4 and I-9 and you want to change it, go to the onboardee's profile and under the "Overview" tab, select "Edit." Then change the "Type" to either Contractor or Volunteer.

In the example below, the onboardee has been assigned the W-4 and I-9, as you can see by looking at their "Forms" tab.

Then, after changing "Type" from W2 to Volunteer, the assignments for the W-4 and I-9 disappear.
