If you have imported your classes from an LMS, including Google Classroom, Canvas, Schoology, and HMH Ed, you may need to set the grade level for a class.

Why do classes need to have a grade level?

  • Originality Check is only available for middle and high school classes, so the grade level must be set in order to enable it for a class.

  • The grade level for a class will impact the standards reported for that class. For example, high school classes will default to show high school standards on the Proficiency Reports.

Follow these steps to check and set your class grade levels:

  1. Log in to your Writable account, and click the 'Classes' link at the top of the page.

  2. Find your class under 'Active' and click on the title of the class to expand its details.

  3. Click 'Select your grade' and choose the grade level for your class.

Tip! If the class has students from multiple grade levels, we recommend choosing the highest grade level in your class. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to support@writable.com.

Note: If you have not set your grade level for a class, you will be prompted to do so before you can assign to that class.
