How do I choose HMH programs on Ed so students can access Writable?

Check 'Program Settings' for your Ed classes to ensure students have access to Writable

Updated over a week ago

All classes must be configured on Ed with programs selected in order for students to access Writable. If your students are unable to see the 'Writable' (or 'Writing Tasks') icon on their Ed Dashboard, you may need to adjust the Program Settings for the class. You can find directions for managing programs below or on the HMH Support Page.

Are your students seeing 'Writing Tasks' instead of 'Writable'? Click here for troubleshooting directions to ensure your programs are set up accurately.

1. After logging in to Ed, click the 'My Classes' tab at the top of the page.

2. The 'My Classes' page shows a list of all your classes. If you have not set up any programs for a class, click the blue 'Choose Programs' button.

If you have already selected programs for a class, those programs are listed on the class card. To manage the class programs, click the 'View Class' button.

3. Click 'Program Settings' in the left menu.

4. Make sure the boxes for your programs are checked. Once you have checked the correct programs for your class, click 'Save and Update' in the top right corner.

Tip! If you are using Writable with an HMH Curriculum (such as Into Literature or Into Reading) be sure to check the box next to that curriculum and grade level.

5. When you return to the 'Discover' page, use the dropdown menu to see your available programs.

Students should now be able to view the 'Writable' (or 'Writing Tasks') button in their Ed accounts and launch the program using these directions.
