Writable has conducted an automated archive for all existing classes and rosters that appear in the 'Classes' page. This archive process happened on July 16th, 2023.
Archiving classes helps teachers:
Avoid confusion about which roster/class to choose when they assign in the 2023-2024 school year
Have a clean 'Classes' page to work with for the new school year.
How do I un-archive a Class?
If you had been working with students in a class or roster that was automatically archived, you can un-archive it and re-assign to this class.
Go to the 'Classes' page at the top of the Writable green navigation bar.
Scroll to the bottom of the page and choose 'Archived Classes'.
Click 'Unarchive class'
Note: if you are a Schoology or Google Classroom teacher and you have classes in the 'Inactive in LMS' section, these classes cannot be un-archived because your administrator has made them inactive in your LMS. If you have questions about why a roster was archived, please contact your school or district Schoology or Google Classroom administrator.
How do I re-assign work to a class that was automatically archived by Writable?
We have made every effort to ensure that classes that had active students as of July 16th, 2023 were not affected by our automated archive. However, if you have a class or roster that was affected and need support, please contact us at support@writable.com or visit the '?' in the top right corner to access our Live Chat team.
If you need to re-assign an assignment to students that were recently working in Writable, please follow these steps:
Go to the 'Inactive Assignments' section of 'My Assignments' and locate the assignment you'd like to re-assign:
Click on the pencil icon and follow the instructions. You may need to go to the 'Classes' page to un-archive the assignment and/or you may need to click 'Assign' again.
