You may have tested your course as a student and found that the Welcome Celebration fired, but there was no sound. This is common, and no cause for alarm. Here's why.
Most browsers have built-in safeguards to protect the user. A common one is restricting sound on an unfamiliar site. This means that the very first time a student logs in, if a Celebration plays, their browser will likely auto-mute the sound. This happens on almost all browsers.
Less commonly, a browser may do the same thing if a student has not logged in for a long time.
This means that there are two places where the sound may be muted:
The Welcome Celebration, which is very common
The Welcome Back Celebration, which is less common
Nothing is wrong with your course. This is happening at the student's browser level and does not represent anything you need to adjust on your end.
And no worries: since your whole course is filled with unique gamified elements, having sound muted on one celebration won't diminish the experience or its ability to surprise and delight your students.
