Before we get started, here’s something crucial to keep in mind: this is the first version (V1) of our "Ask the Expert" AI Bot feature. We’re launching it early to gather your feedback on its functionality and to understand what additional features you might find valuable.

Once we’ve got a solid grasp on how you’re using it, we’ll invest further in developing advanced features and optimizations to enhance your experience.

What is the "Ask the Expert" AI Bot?

Even the best educators face a never-ending stream of student questions. Enter our "Ask the Expert" AI Bot—a smart assistant designed to handle course-related queries around the clock. This bot is trained on the entire content of your course, including:

  • Course materials

  • Replay and bonus content

  • Document uploads

  • Training notes

Powered by the latest ChatGPT technology, the AI Bot provides answers in a familiar chat interface, ensuring that students get the support they need anytime, anywhere.

How to Activate the "Ask the Expert" AI Bot

Important: The AI Bot remains disabled until you activate it.

  1. Go to your Account area.

  2. Click the Ask the Expert tab to see a list of your courses.

  3. Select the course you want to activate and click the Enable bot button.

Once activated, you’ll see an "Active" status next to your bot.


How to Add the Bot to Your Course Pages

Add to Course Top Navigation

  1. Edit the top navigation block by clicking the Edit Content button.

  2. Toggle the Show 'Ask the Expert' bot? switch.

Add a Button to Any Page

  1. Use the pre-built block available in your Page Builder sidebar under the "Text & Images" section.


Customizing the Bot's Greeting

By default, the bot greets students with:

"Hi – I'm an AI bot! How can I help? Just ask me a question and I'll do my best to answer based on what I know about this course!"

To customize this message:

  1. Navigate to the Language page in your Xperiencify admin area.

  2. Select your course from the drop-down menu.

  3. Type "ai" in the search field to find the greeting text.

  4. Click the entry and update the message.


Keeping Your Bot Updated

The bot automatically updates with new content, including replays, bonuses, training notes, and documents.


How to Disable Your Bot

If you need to turn off the bot:

  1. Go to your Account area.

  2. Click the Ask the Expert tab and select the course.

  3. Click the Disable bot button.


Bot Compatibility with Videos

To train the bot, your videos must be uploaded to the XP platform. If your videos are over 2GB, compress them using Handbrake before uploading.


Erase Data and Retrain Your Bot

To reset or update your bot with new course data:

  1. Click the Disable bot button.

  2. Click the Enable bot button to retrain it.


GDPR & Privacy Concerns

Rest assured, your content is trained in a private API session. No data is used to train public OpenAI models, and all data is stored in the USA.


Planned Features

Fine-Grain Training Controls: Soon, you’ll be able to select specific content for bot training.

Log Search Tool: Search and filter chat logs to find specific texts or analyze interactions.

Log Analysis Tool: Gain insights into topics, sentiments, timing, and student engagement to better understand and improve your course.
