What is "Binge Mode"? (Formerly "Dynamic Release") š
Most platforms keep students locked into a fixed schedule for content release, which can be frustrating for those eager to move ahead or those who prefer to dedicate large chunks of time to make progress.
Binge Mode offers a more flexible approach, allowing you to keep students engaged and excited without overwhelming them. Hereās how it works:
Unlock Content After Completion: Content is only unlocked once the previous training is completed, keeping students motivated to continue.
Flexible Scheduling Options: You can also set up a regular release schedule but allow extra-motivated students to unlock the next training faster by completing the current one.
Note: Binge Mode unlocks the next training one at a time based on the completion of the previous training.
Important Notes About Using Binge Mode šØ
To ensure Binge Mode works correctly, follow these steps:
Create All Modules and Trainings First
Build out all your modules and trainings before turning on Binge Mode.Turn On Binge Mode
Activate Binge Mode after your modules and trainings are set. Then Add Students
Add your students only after the above steps are completed.
What Not to Do with Binge Mode ā
Avoid Adding or Moving Trainings Mid-Course
Donāt add or rearrange trainings while students are already progressing through the course. Binge Mode relies on sequential completion, and altering the course structure can disrupt this logic, causing issues with how content is unlocked.
Common Issue: Most problems with Binge Mode occur when course creators adjust trainings or add new ones while students are mid-course. This disrupts the sequential flow that Binge Mode relies on.
Recommendation: Always create all modules and trainings first (even if they are just placeholders), then turn on Binge Mode, and finally add your students.
Adjustments After Students Are Added:
Feel free to add notes or videos within existing trainingsāthese minor edits wonāt affect the sequence. However, avoid adding new trainings or changing the order once students have started.
How to Set it Up
In Step 3, you'll set up your content release schedule.
You have options for how you can use Binge Mode:
Select the option called
Leave Locked
if you DON'T want the content to roll out on a regular drip schedule
Or, set up a "Regular" drip mode (such as "releases after X days") - but allow Binge Mode to OVERRIDE that schedule.
Next, you'll turn on "Binge Modeā by scrolling down to your "Course Settings" section, and then clicking into "Settings"...
You'll see an option to toggle on "Binge Mode"
A popup message will appear - click "Yes, turn it on"
Once you've toggled it on, you'll see a SECOND option appear, asing you whether Binge Mode Should Unlock "Locked Content"
If you've selected the option in Step 3 to "Leave Locked" - and you DO want the student to be able to unlock all content using Binge Mode - turn this ON
(NOTE: The reason this is OPTIONAL is because we also offer you more ways to release content, using our Unlock Training or Unlock Module Automations).
What happens if my student unchecks actions? Will the trainings disappear again?
Once they've been unlocked, the trainings won't disappear. They'll continue to be available (even if a student unchecks a training action).
What if I add in additional trainings, once the course is already in progress?
Each training will unlock based on completion of the training before it. If a student has completed a training, the next training to follow will always become available.
What about the emails I've set up? Will they still go out?
Your emails will all still be sent, according to the triggers you've set up in Step 5.
If you have an experience set to email a student when a training or module is released or completed, the email will happen whenever the training/ module is released or completed... regardless of when the student completes it.
How to Edit the Popup Notifications for your Students
When "Binge Mode" is available, and a student completes a training, they'll see a popup notification, letting them know that they've unlocked the next available training.
To edit the message that your student sees when a new training is released, you'll change the text in your Language section of your admin account
Search for "Training" to find the notification message:
Change your text here:
(Be sure not to change the training token, which will automatically populate with the next Training's info)
