The Power of Goals: Why You Should Include Them in Your Course 🚀

Did you know a Harvard study found that the 3% of people who have and write down their goals are THIRTY TIMES more likely to succeed than the average person?

THIRTY TIMES! 🤯

When we discovered this, we knew we had to incorporate goals into Xperiencify—to help your students join that 3% and become 30 times more successful!

We started by setting up a few simple goals for one of our courses and displayed them on the front page of our course's membership site. What happened next was incredible:

  • Students got excited—they started posting selfies with their goals in our Facebook group!

  • Daily Action—many began logging in and taking action every single day.

  • Goal Achievements—soon, students were sharing their wins in our community, creating a ripple effect of energy and motivation.

All we did was add a few simple goals. It felt like we’d hit the lottery—and today, I want to share the winning formula with you. 😊

Setting Goals in Xperiencify: The Winning Formula 🎯

In Xperiencify, you can set up to three goals for your students:

  1. Minimum Goal

  2. Target Goal

  3. Stretch Goal

We recommend using all three to create a motivating range of achievements:

  • One goal set too low can demotivate students once it’s achieved.

  • One goal set too high can feel intimidating and discourage action.

  • Three goals provide a balanced range that keeps students inspired to keep pushing forward.

How We Set Up Goals for Our Courses 📝

In our "Start With You" course, which helps students find the business they’re meant to build, we structured our goals like this:

  1. Minimum Goal: Aligned with the course’s mission—e.g., “Find the business idea you’re meant to build.”

  2. Target Goal: More inspirational—e.g., “I started my own business.”

  3. Stretch Goal: Life-changing—e.g., “I made my first dollar!”

How to Set Good Goals:

  1. Minimum Goal
Set this to the mission of your course. For example, in our Experience Product Masterclass (EPM), our mission is to help students earn $2,000 in 10 weeks or less, so our minimum goal is: “Made $2,000!”

  2. Target Goal
A step above the minimum and feels more achievable after hitting the first. In EPM, we set this to “Earned $2,500!”

  3. Stretch Goal
The “moonshot” goal—the life-changing outcome. In EPM, we set this to “Earned $3,000!”

Examples of Goals You Can Set:

  • Made XXX Dollars

  • Replaced my income and quit my job

  • Eliminated pain from my day

  • Meditated 10 minutes each day

Pro Tip: Adding emojis can make goals feel fun and engaging, enhancing your students’ experience!

Over the years, we've seen that setting three well-thought-out goals keeps students motivated all the way to the finish line—something that’s tough to achieve with other platforms.

Are you game? Let’s do it!
