Previewing Your Course: How to View Your Membership Site Like a Student đ
Before setting up your program or course, itâs a great idea to view your membership site as your students would. Here are two ways to do this: using "admin preview" mode or "student" mode.
Viewing Your Course in Admin "Preview" Mode đ ď¸
Admin preview mode lets you see your course pages while logged in as an administrator. Itâs perfect for a quick overview, but keep in mind you wonât see everything exactly as your students do.
Limitations of Admin Preview Mode:
Points wonât accrue as you navigate through the course.
Data wonât save like it does for a student.
Next Up Training blocks wonât show the correct next training, as this depends on completion status.
Testing Binge Mode wonât function since youâre not completing trainings sequentially like a student.
Admin preview mode is best for a quick look. To fully experience your course as a student, itâs best to test in student mode.
How to Enter Admin Preview Mode:
From the main page, click on the course whose membership site you want to preview.
Click the link at the top of the page to preview the Membership Site as your student would see it.
You can click around within the Membership Site for a general overview.
Viewing Your Course in "Student" Mode đ
To see your course EXACTLY as a student does, youâll need to add yourself as a student.
Important Note:
If your account is in Sandbox mode, you canât add real students. Sandbox mode is a free account that lets you explore our features with no time limits. To add real students, youâll need to take your account live.
Important Tips for Adding Yourself as a Student:
You cannot use your administrator email address as your student email address. Mixing admin and student roles in the same email can mess with your settings.
Use a different email address from your main admin account for testing. If you donât have an extra email, you can easily create new addresses using your current one.
How to Create Unlimited New Email Addresses đ§
Most email providers, including Gmail, allow you to create unlimited email variations without setting up a new account. Simply add a plus sign (+) and some text after your email prefix.
Example:
If your email is murray@xperiencify.com
, you can create a new testing email like this:
âmurray+feb26@xperiencify.com
.
The email server ignores everything after the plus sign, but itâs still recognized as a unique address, perfect for testing!
Steps to Test as a Student:
Add yourself as a student using a new email variation.
Use the magic link to access the course and experience it as a student.
For best results, test in a different browser to keep cookies separate between your student and admin accounts.
