Welcome to the Product Upsell feature of Xpansion - a Shopify app that can help you increase your sales and revenue by encouraging customers to add more items to their shopping cart. With Product Upsell, you can display your products prior the checkout process, giving them the opportunity to upgrade their purchase with complementary products.

How to Use Product Upsell

If you're interested in using the Product Upsell feature, here's what you need to do:

  • First, you'll need to install and set up the Xpansion Shopify app. Once you're logged in, head over to the app dashboard and navigate to the "Product Upsell" tab.

  • Once you've installed the Xpansion app, all you need to do is to open Shopify theme customizer (online store > themes > customize) and drop the product upsell app block. {{video}}

  • Then you will have the following settings:

    • Choose/select products

    • You can select how many products you want to show, rest of the selected products will be hidden under a show more button.

    • You can also display out of stock products and display variants in the popup/lightbox style instead of dropdown.

    • You can also change the cart icon to match your store branding and rewrite the heading text so it says what you want to tell.

Best Practices for Creating Upsell Offers

To make the most of the Product Upsell feature, here are some tips to keep in mind when creating your upsell offers:

  • Keep the complementary products relevant and desirable to the customer. After all, you want to encourage them to make a purchase, not turn them off with something they don't want or need.

  • If the products are suitable as a bundle make sure to check this option allowing customers to add them in bulk.

  • Keep track of which products are most successful and try different approaches to see what works best.
