What are the approved trading hours and sessions?

Updated over 2 months ago

YRM Prop enforces specific trading hours and session rules to manage risk and ensure proper account evaluation. Here are the key trading time restrictions:

Daily Trading Sessions

  • Weekday Trading: You can trade during normal market hours, but all positions must be closed by 4:15 PM EST each day

  • Overnight Trading: You may reopen positions after 6:00 PM EST if you wish to trade evening sessions

  • No Holding Overnight: While you can trade evening sessions, all positions must still be closed by 4:15 PM EST the following day

Weekend Restrictions

  • Weekend Policy: No positions may be held over the weekend

  • Friday Close: All positions must be closed before the weekend market close on Friday

  • Sunday/Monday Open: You may begin trading again when markets reopen for the new week

News Event Restrictions

  • Major Economic Announcements: No open positions are allowed 2 minutes before major news releases

  • Post-News Trading: You may resume trading 2 minutes after the news release

  • Affected News Events: These include FOMC decisions, U.S. Jobless Claims, US Core PCE releases, and other significant economic announcements

Trading Days Definition

  • A "Trading Day" is counted as at least one trade placed between 6:00 PM EST and 4:15 PM EST the next day

  • You must trade on a minimum of 2 separate trading days to pass the challenge

These time restrictions are designed to enforce disciplined risk management and prevent excessive exposure during volatile market periods. The end-of-day position closing requirement allows for proper daily drawdown calculations and account evaluation.
