How do I install an eSIM on my device?

Many of the steps are the same regardless of your device. The main difference is where you go in you device settings to begin the installation.

Preparation (All Devices):

  • Connect to a strong WiFi.

  • Delete any old or unused eSIM profiles (usually found in your device's Mobile/SIM settings).

  • Have your installation email open and ready if purchased via our website.

  • Check your device's compatibility using the method described in this article: How do I check if my device is compatible with eSIMs?

  • Update your devices to ensure it’s running at least iOS 13+ or Android 9+.

Start Installation:

Device

Minimum OS

Installation Path

iPhone (iOS 17.4+)

iOS 17.4+

Tap the "Tap to Install eSIM" prompt in your installation email.

iPhone (Older iOS)

iOS 13+

Go to Settings > Mobile Service > Add eSIM > Use QR Code.

Samsung

Android 9+

Go to Settings > Connections > SIM Manager > Add eSIM > Scan QR Code.

Google Pixel

Android 9+

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > tap + next to Mobile Network > Download a SIM instead.

Other Android

Android 9+

Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Mobile Network > Add Carrier or Settings > Connections > SIM Manager.

If the QR code won't scan: Use the manual entry option and enter the SM-DP+ Address and Activation Code from your installation email or your plan’s settings within the app.

Post-Installation Configuration (All Devices):

  1. Go to Settings > Mobile Data > Zable and turn on both Mobile Data and Data Roaming. (Despite the name, you won't be charged roaming fees. This setting is required for your eSIM to work in the UK.)

  2. Restart your phone.
