ZayZoon makes team communication easy with Announcements (beta) and Polls (beta) in Employer Connect. These features are free to access from your employer portal account.

With a few clicks in Employer connect, you can:

Polls


To get started, sign in to your Employer Connect portal, navigate to Polls (beta) in the side menu, then click Activate Polls.

How do I send a poll?

To send polls, sign in to your Employer Connect portal, then click Polls (beta) from the side menu.

  1. Click Create new poll.

2. Write your poll question or statement. Currently, you can provide up to 5 choices in a poll.

Questions have a 250 maximum character limit and choices have a 50 character limit.

3. Click Preview Poll to view your poll preview. Click Cancel to keep editing, or click Send once it's good to go.

Once sent, any employee registered with payroll will receive an email notification. Employees who have the mobile app and notifications enabled will also receive a push notification.

Polls will be featured in the Company Activity feed in the ZayZoon app.

Can polls be edited or deleted after sending?

You won't be able to edit your poll, but you can delete it shortly after sending.

The email and push notifications sent to employees don't provide message previews. They might know a poll was sent but they won't be able to see it once it has been deleted.

I made a mistake, how do I delete my poll?

Made a mistake in your poll? You can delete your post with just a couple clicks.

  1. Click the 3 dots on the top right of your poll, then Delete.

  2. Confirm in the pop-up window to delete the poll. Deletions cannot be reversed.

Will I know which employee has selected which answer?

No, at this time polls are fully anonymous. You won't be able to see who selected each answer. However, you can see the total number of responses and the spread of results across choices.

Can employees vote more than once?

Employees can only vote once for an option but they can change their vote at any time by selecting a different option.

Can polls be scheduled to send at a later time?

Once you send your poll, it'll be sent immediately.

We don't currently provide the option to schedule polls for a later time, but stay tuned!

Can we select which employees can see or vote in the polls?

Not at this time. Polls can be seen and voted on by all employees connected to payroll with a ZayZoon account.

All employees who are connected to payroll with an associated email will receive notifications for announcements and polls, even if they haven't signed up for ZayZoon yet.

If they have a ZayZoon account, they'll be able to view polls and announcements in the Company Activity Feed when they sign into the app.

To get started, sign in to your Employer Connect portal, select Announcements (beta) from the menu on the left , then click Activate.

How do I create and send an announcement?

  1. Click Create Announcement.

  2. Type your message out for your team, then click Preview Announcement. You'll be able to view a preview of your message before sending.

  3. When your announcement is ready, click Send.


    Any employee registered with payroll will receive email notifications. Employees who have the mobile app and notifications enabled will also receive a push notification.

    Announcements are featured in the Company Activity feed in the ZayZoon app.

  4. Once submitted, you'll see a confirmation banner at the top of your Announcements (beta) feed. The Announcements (beta) feed will show your previously posted polls and employee votes. Results are anonymous and automatically sorted by vote count.

I made a mistake, can I edit or delete my announcement?

You won't be able to edit an announcement, but you can delete it from your Employer Connect Portal.

Find your announcement in the Announcements (beta) menu, click the 3 dots in the post, then select delete.

Will new employees be able to see announcements?

All employees who are connected to payroll with an associated email will receive notifications for announcements and polls, even if they haven't signed up for ZayZoon yet.

FAQs

Can we add images/memes/files?

You can't currently add images, memes, or files to polls or announcements, but stay tuned for future updates!

Can we pin polls/posts at the top of the company activity feed?

Currently, polls and announcements cannot be pinned to the company activity feed.

The most recent poll/announcement or recognition will appear first.

What if my employee doesn't have a ZayZoon account?

Employees connected to payroll with an email address will still receive poll and announcement notifications.

They'll be able to view the first 5 items on the Company Activity Feed. They'll only need a ZayZoon account to participate in polls or comment and react to announcements.

Can employees turn off notifications for polls or announcements?

The notifications for the ZayZoon app is a global setting - employees will get all notifications from the ZZ app, or they will not get any. At this time there isn’t a way to just turn off notifications for announcements or polls.
