Integrating Zeeg with your Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar boosts your productivity: Zeeg automatically detects when you're busy and updates your calendar with new bookings—no manual work needed.
Connecting your Outlook / Microsoft 365 calendar is available on all Zeeg plans, including the free Starter plan.
Using on-premises Exchange?
This article covers connecting Zeeg with Microsoft 365 (cloud-based) accounts, including Outlook as part of the Microsoft 365 suite.
If your organization uses on-premises Microsoft Exchange (not the cloud version), the setup process is different. Please refer to the dedicated guide: Microsoft 365 Resources and RoomLists.
How to connect Outlook / Microsoft 365 with Zeeg
1. Click on your name in the top left corner and select Calendar Connections.
2. To connect your Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar, click the Microsoft 365 button.
3. This will redirect you to Microsoft, where you can sign in to your account and grant the necessary permissions to Zeeg. Please make sure to accept all required permissions, especially the calendar access permissions, so Zeeg can read your availability and create new events.
Avoiding conflicts with Outlook / Microsoft 365 events
When you connect your Microsoft 365 account with Zeeg, your primary calendar is checked for conflicts by default.
You can configure which calendars Zeeg checks for conflicts. This is especially useful if you have multiple calendars within your Microsoft 365 account—for example, a personal calendar alongside your work calendar.
Under Calendar Connections, find your Microsoft 365 account and activate/deactivate the toggle on the right.
Then click the dropdown and check the boxes of the calendars which should be checked for conflicts.
Which Outlook events block your availability?
Zeeg recognizes any time marked as Busy in your Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar as unavailable. These times are automatically excluded from your scheduling page so invitees cannot book them.
You can configure smart overbooking rules in Zeeg to treat certain busy events as still available if needed.
Can selecting an Outlook calendar block all my available times?
If you have all-day events in your Outlook calendar with the status set to Busy, those events will block the entire day. As a result, no available time slots will be shown on your scheduling page for those days.
If you notice unexpected days being fully blocked, check whether you have all-day events marked as Busy in the selected calendar.
Adding appointments to Outlook / Microsoft 365
When a booking is made through Zeeg, it is automatically added to your Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar.
To select a different calendar than the default for newly scheduled appointments:
Go to Calendar Connections.
Under the Add to calendar section, select your preferred target calendar.
You can override this setting for an individual scheduling page under its Advanced Scheduling Settings.
Which calendars can be selected for adding new appointments?
New appointments created by Zeeg can only be added to calendars for which your Microsoft 365 account has edit permissions. Zeeg will only display calendars you have the right to modify.
If a shared calendar from your Microsoft 365 account does not appear as an option for adding new appointments, your account does not have the required edit permissions for that calendar.
Syncing cancellations between Outlook and Zeeg
Enabling the Sync calendar cancellation option means that when an event is deleted or declined in your Outlook calendar, it will automatically be cancelled in Zeeg as well. This is also referred to as two-way calendar sync.
When you cancel a scheduled appointment from your Zeeg dashboard—or when your guest cancels via the Zeeg link sent to them—the corresponding event in your Outlook or Microsoft 365 calendar will also be marked as cancelled.
