Moving to JavaScript from an Image Pixel
Moving to JavaScript from an Image Pixel
Updated over a week ago

With the new JavaScript Zemanta Pixel, you can expand your tracking capabilities beyond image pixels, Google Analytics, and Adobe Analytics integrations. Unlike image pixel, by implementing the JavaScript code right into the header section of your website once, you can track any custom event without the need to change or replace the code. JavaScript tracking also enables granular insights on analytics, such as time on site, page view, page view per session, bounce rate, and many others.

There are some historically known limitations for the image pixel. One is that you are not able to collect additional data but conversion events. Another is that you need to implement new image pixel tags on your website every time you want to track new conversions. Using a universal JavaScript pixel, you can define new conversion definitions in Zemanta without the need to replace the pixel on your website.

You decide what to do next

Zemanta has been upgraded with three new options available in the main menu: Engagement Tracking, Conversions, and Audiences. These sections enable you to access your JavaScript Zemanta pixel, set conversion definitions, and start building audience pools.

Your previously implemented and existing image pixels are still fully functional and you can leave them in place. These image pixels are now converted and accessible as conversion definitions under the Conversions section. But we recommend you consider replacing your existing image pixels with the JavaScript pixel and start attributing conversions using conversion definitions.
