How To Import Contact Connections, Roles, And Memos In ZenCase From Another System

What Do We Allow For Import?

We currently support the following data to be imported into ZenCase via a CSV file in any order:

It is best to download the import templates provided below and to ensure the data is consistently formatted to match the template for the best migration success of your firm's data.

It is recommended to have a backup of your firm's data in a secure file system or data center to ensure no data is lost.

Note: All Importers are limited to 100,000 records per CSV file.

How to Import Addresses For A Contact

Contact Address import should be used AFTER the Contacts import to correct any invalid addresses that were ignored from the Contacts import.

Importing Contact Addresses into ZenCase can be done via uploading a CSV file from the Contacts list page.

You can use our CSV template file to ensure you format your CSV correctly.

Fields that can be imported in this specific order:

Please note that Excel may strip out the leading, beginning, 0 before all zip codes.

Upload Your CSV File

Once you have your CSV file filled out, you can then upload your CSV from ZenCase:

  • Go to the Contacts list page in ZenCase

  • Click on the down arrow button next to "Import From CSV"

  • In the dropdown options, click the "Import Memos From CSV" button

  • Choose the CSV file you want to upload

  • Click "Save"

  • Once your import is complete, you will see the new fields with values on a specific Contact's "Details" tab in the "Addresses" section when you view the Contact Profile.

How to Import Email Addresses For A Contact

Contact Email Address import should be used AFTER the Contacts import to correct any invalid email addresses that were ignored from the Contacts import.

Importing Contact Email Addresses into ZenCase can be done via uploading a CSV file from the Contacts list page.

How to Import Phone Numbers For A Contact

Contact Phone Number import should be used AFTER the Contacts import to correct any invalid phone numbers that were ignored from the Contacts import.

Importing Contact Phone Numbers into ZenCase can be done via uploading a CSV file from the Contacts list page.

You can use our CSV template file to ensure you format your CSV correctly.

How to Import Connections For A Contact

Contact Connections import should be used AFTER the Contacts import to associate any Contact or Member together.

Importing Contact Connections into ZenCase can be done via uploading a CSV file from the Contacts list page or a specific Contact Profile's page on the "Connections" tab.

You can use our CSV template file to ensure you format your CSV correctly.

Upload Your CSV File

  • Go to the Contacts list page in ZenCase

  • Select a Contact to view the details page

  • Click on the "Connections" tab from the Contact details page

  • Click the "Import Connections From CSV" button

  • Choose the CSV file you want to upload

  • Click "Save"

  • Once your import is complete, you will see the new fields with values on the Contact's "Connections" tab page.

Alternatively, you can also upload Contact Connections for multiple contacts directly from the Contacts list page.

  • Go to the Contacts list page in ZenCase

  • Click on the down arrow button next to "Import From CSV"

  • In the dropdown options, click the "Import Contact Connections From CSV" button

  • Choose the CSV file you want to upload

  • Click "Save"

  • Once your import is complete, you will see the new fields with values on the Contact's "Connections" tab page.

How to Import Role Assignments For A Contact

Contact Role Assignments import should be used AFTER the Contacts import to assign roles to a Contact.

Importing Contact Role Assignments into ZenCase can be done via uploading a CSV file from the Contacts list page or a specific Contact Profile's page on the "Roles" tab.

You can use our CSV template file to ensure you format your CSV correctly.

Must be greater than or equal to zero.

Values represent "Y" for yes and "N" for no.

Start Date

Format: MM/DD/YYYY or MM/DD/YY or MM-DD-YYYY or MM-DD-YY.


Example: 05/01/2020 or 05-01-20 for May 1, 2020.

End Date

date string

Conditional

End Date is required if Start Date is populated.

Format: MM/DD/YYYY or MM/DD/YY or MM-DD-YYYY or MM-DD-YY.


Example: 05/01/2020 or 05-01-20 for May 1, 2020.

Upload Your CSV File

Once you have your CSV file filled out, you can then upload your CSV from ZenCase:

  • Go to the Contacts list page in ZenCase

  • Select a Contact to view the details page

  • Click on the "Roles" tab from the Contact details page

  • Click the "Import Role Assignments From CSV" button

  • Choose the CSV file you want to upload

  • Click "Save"

  • Once your import is complete, you will see the new fields with values on the Contact's "Roles" tab page.

Alternatively, you can also upload Contact Role Assignments for multiple contacts directly from the Contacts list page.

  • Go to the Contacts list page in ZenCase

  • Click on the down arrow button next to "Import From CSV"

  • In the dropdown options, click the "Import Contact Role Assignments From CSV" button

  • Choose the CSV file you want to upload

  • Click "Save"

  • Once your import is complete, you will see the new fields with values on the Contact's "Roles" tab page.

How to Import Memos For A Contact

Contact Memos import should be used AFTER the Contacts import to associate notes, comments, or memos from the legacy system to a Contact.

Importing Memos into ZenCase can be done via uploading a CSV file from the Contacts list page.

You can use our CSV template file to ensure you format your CSV correctly.

Upload Your CSV File

Once you have your CSV file filled out, you can then upload your CSV from ZenCase:

  • Go to the Contacts list page in ZenCase

  • Click on the down arrow button next to "Import From CSV"

  • In the dropdown options, click the "Import Memos From CSV" button

  • Choose the CSV file you want to upload

  • Click "Save"

  • Once your import is complete, you will see the new fields with values on a specific Contact's "Memos" tab when you view the Contact Profile.
