Do you need locum access (FFFFF) or SCR access on your smartcard?

While not an essential requirement for booking shifts, many stores will need pharmacists to have a Smartcard to work with them. Locum pharmacists need locum access on their Smartcards in order to access systems across multiple pharmacies. Typically, a Smartcard only gives access to one pharmacy’s system.

If you do not have a Smartcard, please reach out to your RA directly to be issued a new one. Not sure who your RA is? Check here

Once you receive your Smartcard number, you will need to get locum access. We can request this from your RA on your behalf. Some RAs have extra requirements (e.g. must have 5 shifts booked, must have a NHS sponsor complete a form) but the RA will inform Zen if this is the case when access is requested.
We recommend booking shifts at least 1 week or more in advance to give them time to set up your Smartcard (you must work all booked shifts).

Once you have booked shifts, please send an email letting us know you are ready to request locum access. Please provide your RA email and Smartcard number if you haven’t already done so on the app. Please note, it's not possible to request locum access yourself, so make sure to speak to our team!

After your RA has set up locum access on your Smartcard, you will then be able to apply for SCR access here.
