How do I negotiate the rate?

We know how important it is for locums to be able to negotiate rates; that's why we've designed an in-app rate negotiation feature.

You can negotiate without having to leave the app or speak to the store!

Here's how to use this tool:

  1. Decline the shift and choose the reason as 'rate too low'.

  2. The shift will not be declined. Instead, enter the amount you would accept the shift for.

    • The shift will remain in your app with a label showing your requested rate.

  3. The store will then receive your negotiation request.

  4. If they increase the rate, you'll be notified via push notification

    • You'll see the label “Rate increased” on the shift

Please note, negotiations are not on a 1:1 basis. If a store increases the rate, all locums who currently match for the shift will be notified and can accept at the higher rate

You'll also still be able to accept shifts for the original rate if you've negotiated but you'll be warned that the shift is still at the original rate before you accept!
