Custom Fields

This guide shows you how to use Custom Fields on your Cover Page

Updated over 3 weeks ago

Custom Fields can be added to the Cover Page or Spine Labels. They enable you to define and add more information to your cover page. The content of a Custom Field is stored centrally so the same Custom Field can be used on the Cover Page and the Spine Label, and any change to the content will be reflected wherever the Custom Field is used.

To create your own Custom Fields, go to the Contents group on the Bundle tab, click the Cover Page icon and you will see Custom Fields to the left at the bottom of the side bar.

Your new Custom Field will be listed in the left-hand menu. Right click on the new field and you will be given the choice of either Remove Field or Rename Field.

Remove Field will delete the Custom Field and Rename Field allows you to rename the field.

A popup will appear to allow you to type in the desired field name when you select Rename Field. To view the name of a Custom Field on your Cover Page or Spine Label, hover over the field and the name will appear above it.

If you have a Custom Field which is a text box, enter the relevant data. This example shows a Custom Field name "Court" which contains the Court information for the Cover Page and Spine Label.

Now that you have created your Custom Field you can drag it onto either your Cover Page or your Spine Labels. The content of the Custom Field is stored centrally so a change made on the Cover Page will also be reflected on the Spine Label and vice versa.

For more information on Spine Labels please see our Spine Labels article.
