Overview
This guide covers how to use the DK Bat Sensor and DK Swing On App to capture bat-to-ball swing data during a BASE session. Each athlete must complete a minimum of eight swings using the sensor. Swings may be performed with front toss, flips, live arm, or machine.
Equipment Needed
DK Bat Sensor
DK Bat Sensor Rubber Cap
iPhone or iPad with the DK Swing On App installed
Staff Required: One coach or instructor to manage the app throughout the session.
Setup & Execution
Before the session:
Ensure the iPhone/iPad and DK Sensor are both fully charged
Activating the sensor:
Double tap the DK Sensor firmly to activate it
A green light will appear on the sensor when it is successfully turned on
In the app:
Launch the DK Swing On App on the device
Select the specific group within the app
Choose the athlete who will be hitting
Attach the DK Sensor securely to the knob of the athlete's bat
Tap the Sensor Icon to connect to the correct DK Sensor and confirm the bat size
Make sure Bluetooth is enabled on the device
Start the session within the app
During the session:
A green bar or line will appear at the bottom of the screen for every swing successfully captured
Only swings where contact is registered will be recorded
Ending the session:
Tap the icon on the right side of the screen (four squares inside a circle)
Select End Session
When the Session Summary Screen appears, select End Session again
You will be returned to the athlete's Start Session Screen
Login Credentials
To maintain data security, login credentials for the DK Swing On App are restricted to authorized personnel.
Login Required: If you are not signed in or do not have the credentials for your facility, please reach out to your 1845 Support Representative or your Facility Admin.
⚠️ Technical Notes
App Access: Because the DK Swing On App is unlisted in the App Store, you must use this direct link to download it: DK Swing On App.
Battery Management: To avoid downtime during large assessments, keep sensors on chargers when not in active rotation.
