What is Workgroup Settings?
Workgroup Settings lets you apply your Organization Admin settings to a single Workgroup instead of your whole organization. Each Workgroup gets its own Settings tab that mirrors your Organization Admin settings, and everything you set there applies only to the users who belong to that Workgroup.
Workgroup Settings is a module that must be activated for your organization. It is not enabled by default. To turn it on, contact 3DPrinterOS Support.
These settings apply only to the Workgroup's users, not to its printers. A user carries their Workgroup settings with them on any printer they're allowed to use.
Enabling Workgroup Settings for a Workgroup
Once the module is active, turn on settings for each Workgroup like this:
Go to Organization Admin → Workgroups and click Manage next to a Workgroup (or create a new one).
On the General tab, turn on the Enable settings priority toggle.
In the Settings priority field, enter a whole number of 0 or greater (see below for how it works).
Click Save on the General tab.
A Settings tab now appears at the top of the popup. Open it, configure the Workgroup's settings, and click Save changes.
You must click Save on the General tab after enabling settings priority. Until you do, the priority isn't stored and the Settings tab won't let you save any Workgroup settings.
How Settings priority works
The Settings priority is a whole number (0 or greater), and a lower number means higher priority. It controls how settings are combined when a user belongs to more than one Workgroup that has settings enabled.
The priority must be unique across your Workgroups.
A user's settings start from your organization-wide settings, and any option set in one of the user's Workgroups overrides the organization setting for that option, regardless of the Workgroup's priority.
Priority only decides between Workgroups: when two of the user's Workgroups set the same option, the higher-priority Workgroup (the lower number) wins. Any option set in only one Workgroup is kept.
Example: a user is in Workgroup A (priority 1) and Workgroup B (priority 2). Their effective settings start from your organization settings, then Workgroup B, then Workgroup A applied last because it has the higher priority. Any option set in A or B overrides the organization setting; if A and B set the same option, A's value is used, and any option set only in B still applies.

Workgroup settings apply to every matching user in the Workgroup, including ones added later.
