๐Ÿ”ฅ Does 5-Out incorporate marketing promotions into the forecast?

Updated over a year ago

Many restaurants run promotions through third party apps like Facebook and Uber Eats. These promotions should and typically do impact sales. However, 5-Out does not currently integrate with promotions or project the incremental volume that restaurants will do based on a given promotions.

However, by ingesting sales data and interpreting trends via machine learning, 5-Out will typically recognize a promotion and use it to inform forecasts in one of two ways.

If the promotion is ongoing and consistent:

5-Out will quickly recognize recurring patterns of spiked revenue and it does not need to know that there is a formal promotion taking place to forecast future revenue spikes.

When the promotion is over, 5-Out will similarly learn to adjust the forecast accordingly after a relatively short period of time.

If the promotion is random:

Significant individual spikes in demand would typically be identified by 5-Out as an anomalous event. If sufficiently large, 5-Out will fully exclude it from being considered for future forecasting.

To manually adjust forecasts for an upcoming or ending promotion:

Override the forecast manually as you would for a major catering order or an event.
