Sometimes, you may notice that your Bitnob Visa card is frozen. A frozen card means that it’s temporarily unavailable for new transactions.
Why a Card May Be Frozen
On Bitnob, your card can be frozen for a few reasons:
Insufficient funds – If your card is declined because it doesn’t have enough balance, it may be frozen.
Self-freeze – You may decide to freeze your card yourself for security reasons.
Refund issues – If a refund is sent to your card for a payment that didn’t originally come from that card, the card may be frozen while our provider reviews it. In this case, we’ll request the following from you:
Full name
Clear screenshot of your ID card
Your full address
Proof of the initial payment
Refund screenshot from the merchant
Once these details are shared, our team will review and resolve the case, which typically takes a few working days.
Important Disclaimer
Freezing your card does not stop old platforms from charging it. If your card has already been linked to a platform (e.g., for recurring payments), freezing it later won’t block that platform from billing you. Freezing only stops the card from being added to new platforms.
So if you have active subscriptions or recurring payments, please make sure your card is topped up to avoid termination.
