Why can't I withdraw after selling my investments?

Explains the cooling-off period after selling investments on CUSP Wealth, what it is, what triggers it, and how long it lasts.

After selling your investments on CUSP Wealth, your funds go through a short settlement period before they're available for withdrawal.

What is the cooling-off period?

When you sell stocks, ETFs, or your CUSP Personalised portfolio, the proceeds are returned to your portfolio as cash. However, the amount will first appear as "Unsettled Cash", as there is a settlement period of up to 48 hours before the funds become available for withdrawal.

This is a standard settlement process. It ensures that your trade has fully completed on the market before the funds are released for withdrawal.

What triggers it?

The cooling-off period applies whenever you sell:

  • Individual stocks or ETFs

  • Your CUSP Personalised portfolio

It does not apply to cash that was deposited directly without being invested.

Frequently Asked Questions

I sold my investment hours ago. Why is my cash still not available?

Settlement can take up to 48 hours from the time your sale is executed. If it has been more than 48 hours and your funds are still unavailable for withdrawal, please contact our support team, and we'll look into it for you.

How can I check if my cash is available to withdraw?

You can track your cash by selecting Cash from your main dashboard or Portfolio. There, you'll see both your Available Cash (ready to withdraw or invest) and Unsettled Cash (still within the settlement period).

Does the cooling-off period apply to money I deposited but didn't invest?

No. Cash you deposited directly, without investing it, is not affected by the cooling-off period. You can withdraw deposited-but-uninvested cash at any time, subject to the standard minimum withdrawal amounts and the $5 fee.

For a full breakdown of withdrawal fees and limits, see Fees Schedule.
