How can I send money abroad?

Updated today

What you need to send money with Comun:

  1. The recipient’s full name, exactly as it appears on their government-issued ID.

  2. The recipient’s phone number.

  3. The recipient’s address (only if you're sending money to a bank account).

  4. The recipient’s CLABE (only if you're sending money to a bank account).

📦 Two convenient ways to send money:

1. Cash Pickup

  • The recipient does not need a bank account.

  • They can pick up the money at participating locations such as:

    • Elektra

    • Oxxo

    • 7-Eleven

    • Soriana

    • Or even at a bank (if you select that option).

  • They must present a valid, government-issued ID.

  • The money will be available at least 30 minutes after you send it.

  • Important: The name must match the ID exactly. If there's a mismatch, your recipient may not be able to pick up the money. But don’t worry—we’ll refund the full amount to your account if there’s an issue.

2. Send to a Bank Account

  • You can send money to any bank in Mexico, including:

    • Banco Azteca

    • BBVA

    • Bancomer

    • Bancoppel, and more.

  • You’ll need to enter the recipient’s CLABE (the 18-digit bank account number).

  • Make sure the CLABE is correct to avoid delays.

  • If there’s an error, the full amount will be refunded to your account.

⚠️ Current Restrictions:

  • You cannot send money to bank accounts in LATAM that only receive U.S. dollars. Funds must be sent to accounts that accept the local currency.

  • You cannot send money to minors at this time.
