How can I send money abroad?
Updated over a week ago

Comun offers flexibility when it comes to sending money. All you need is:

  • Your recipient’s full name, as it appears on the government-issued ID they will use to pick up the money

  • Your recipient’s phone number

  • Your recipient’s address (only if you send money to a bank account)

  • The CLABE bank account number (only if you send money to a bank account)

You can choose between two convenient methods of sending money:

Cash Transfer: Your recipient can collect the funds at designated stores like Grupo Elektra, Oxxo, 7-Eleven, Soriana, and more. You’ll be able to choose the store from your Comun app. You can also choose to send cash to a bank! Your recipient doesn’t need a bank account. They'll need to go to the store or bank you choose to pick up the cash, at the earliest 30 minutes after you send the money, and show a valid government-issued ID for verification. The ID has to be the exact same verification ID provided for you in the app. Make sure the name is an exact match, otherwise your recipient may not be able to pick up the money. But don’t worry, we know mistakes can happen, so we will refund the amount you wanted to transfer to your account.

Bank Transfer: Directly send money to your recipient's bank account. You can send money to any bank in Mexico, including options like Banco Azteca, BBVA, Bancomer, Bancoppel, and more. You will need to input the CLABE of your recipient’s bank account. Make sure you triple check that the CLABE is correct for a smooth transaction. But don’t worry, we know mistakes can happen, so we will refund the amount you wanted to transfer to your account.
