Coaches can create their own exercises, expanding the library to include personalised or specialised movements. It's also possible to swap a video with your own in any of FITR's pre-loaded exercises, so you don't need to create an exercise from scratch.
(Those on Starter cannot create, edit or delete an exercise. If downgrading from Unlimited or Pro to Starter, you'll retain any edited exercise list but not be able to modify it further.)
Two ways to create an exercise:
1. Whilst programming: Search for an exercise, if the search returns 'no results found' you'll see the option to 'Create new exercise'.
2. Exercises library: Navigate to the Exercises tab from the Programming drop-down. Here you'll see the option to Create New Exercise, as well as the ability manage existing.
When creating a new exercise, the coach will:
Add a name for the new exercise.
Select a Metric Category; Strength or Cardio. This pre-defines the default number of columns and the metrics. These can be changed to your preferred.
The Strength category will default to three columns, Reps, Weight and Rest.
The Cardio category will default to two columns, Time and Test.
Assign major muscle groups worked for clarity and organisation.
Choose from an 'equipment list' (expandable upon request).
Upload a video resource to demonstrate the movement (optional).
Fields such as Weight can be left blank for clients to fill in themselves, allowing greater flexibility during workouts.
Make changes to an Exercise
Navigate to the Exercises tab from the Programming drop-down. Here you'll see the option to Create New Exercise, as well as the ability manage existing.
Steps:
- Navigate to Exercises
- Search for the exercise and
- select edit
- the title of the exercise
- return to the program and the name will be changed to the new name
Please note, Coaches on the Starter plan can not create, edit or delete exercises.
To note: Client-Centric Metric Settings
Metrics like lbs or kg will auto-switch for clients based on their app settings, ensuring a consistent experience worldwide.
PRs (personal records) also follow these preferences.
