How do I connect my account to Instagram/Facebook?

If you need to connect or re-connect your connection to Instagram/Facebook, please follow the guide below:

1. Your Instagram profile must be a professional profile.

This is checked by:

  • Log in to your Instagram profile.

    • Click on the three horizontal lines in the upper right corner.

    • Click on "Account type and tools"

    • See "Account type"

    If you don't have a professional profile, then:

    • Click on "Switch to professional account".

    • Follow the next steps.

2. Your Instagram account must be linked to a Facebook Page.

This is checked by:

  • Log in to your Instagram profile.

    • Click on "Edit profile" on the front page of your own profile.

    • Check that there is a Facebook Page attached under the "Page" section.

    • If you don't have a Facebook Page, click "Connect or create".

3. Your Facebook profile must have admin rights over the Facebook Page (So it must be a Facebook Page that you have created through Facebook. In other words, you cannot just connect your Instagram profile to any Facebook Page.)

This is checked by:

  • Log in to your Facebook profile.

    • Click on '"Menu".

    • Click on the "Pages" tab.

    • Select the Facebook Page that you have connected to your Instagram.

    • Click "About".

    • Check "Admin info".

    • If it says that your page has no other admins than you, you have the admin rights.

4. Now log in to your Make Influence profile and click on "Connect Facebook."

You should have the connection back now!

5. It still doesn't work, what do I do?

If you have followed the above guide to the letter without getting the connection back, try logging into your Make Influence profile and clicking "Connect Facebook".

When you sign up, instead of pressing "continue as..", press "edit profile.." and check that you have the same Facebook page associated. Try this time instead of pressing "Continue as..." then press "edit settings".

Remember to give access to everything incl. your profile. We only get access to your data, i.e. impressions, reach, follower demographics, etc.

Here, you need to double-check that:

  • You have selected the correct Instagram profile.

  • You have selected the correct Facebook Page. Note that you may choose only 1 Facebook Page - and it must be the same one you selected from your Instagram profile.

  • You have given Make Influence access to all permissions.

Did it still not work?

If you still have not regained the connection, try clearing your cache, switching to another browser, and also try from another device (such as your computer, if you previously tried from your phone). If this does not work, send screenshots of all the steps you have gone through regarding the above guides to support@makeinfluence.com, and we will try to help as best we can.
