Why would I use Delivery Methods?

Managing Delivery Methods

Step 1: Create Delivery Methods

  1. Go to System Setup.

  2. Navigate to Delivery Methods.

  3. Click Add New to create a delivery method.

  4. Enter a name (e.g. Courier, Haulier, Customer Collection, Customer Drop-off).

  5. Save your changes.

Step 2: Set Default Delivery Methods

You can define defaults at three levels:

  • System Level:

    • Go to System Setup > Delivery Methods.

    • Choose a method and mark it as the default.

  • Account Level:

    • Open a customer account.

    • Under Settings, select a preferred Delivery Method for that account.

  • Place Level:

    • Go to Places (e.g. depots or branches).

    • Set a default Delivery Method for each place.

Note: The system uses a hierarchy — Place > Account > System — to determine which default to apply.

Step 3: Apply Delivery Method to Orders

  1. When creating or editing an order, the Delivery Method field will auto-fill based on the default hierarchy.

  2. You can manually override it if needed.

Step 4: Use During Order Lifecycle

The selected Delivery Method will appear in the Order Action Panel during:

  • Dispatch

  • Booking Out

  • Return Request

  • Booking In

This ensures visibility and consistency throughout the order process.

Step 5: Track and View Delivery Methods

  • View the Delivery Method on:

    • Movements

    • Account Screens

    • Order’s Movements Panel
