Klipboard Money Card Terminals

Learn how to integrate your Klipboard Money card terminals with OnRent Go

So you've onboarded with Klipboard Money and would like to get your card terminals setup with OnRent Go?

We've got you covered.

In the Klipboard Money portal, simply order the card terminals to your relevant store / depot.

The terminals will arrive pre-configured.

All you need to do next is optionally go into System Setup > Integrations > Klipboard Money and change the terminal names to something friendly if required eg Nottingham Terminal 4. This is so that when you take a payment, you know which terminal to send it to.

Then, when you've done that, simply follow the take payment workflows.

When taking a deposit, for example, all you need to do is go to take payment on the order, then enter the value of the deposit or use the amount automatically suggested, then choose the card terminal from the drop-down menu.

The payment value will arrive on the terminal. The customer just needs to put the card in, or use contactless payments, and then OnRent Go will be updated when the card is approved or declined.

If successful, the user can progress to the next stage of the order, just like when you take a payment for a non-card transaction.

If the transaction is declined, the user must take payment via another method.

When processing a refund, the user can only refund up to the value of the original payment.

You'll notice that when using card terminals, the refund of the deposit and the relevant payment must be done in two steps, rather than one - simply go back to the take payment screen to process the next part of the transaction.

As soon as the payment has been cleared, the payment or refund will be posted to your finance system, if integrated.
