Hourly Multiplier Rates

OnRent Go now allows multiplier rates to be defined at an hourly level when half‑day charging is enabled.

Updated yesterday

Overview

This enhancement provides greater pricing flexibility, enabling you to set and import precise hourly multipliers instead of relying on fixed half‑day or daily adjustments.

This is particularly useful when:

  • Pricing varies significantly by hour

  • You want more control over short‑duration rentals

  • Imported rate cards need precise hourly pricing

Step‑by‑Step Guide

Step 1: Enable Half‑Day Charging

  1. Go to System Setup > Rate Definitions

  2. Add a New Rate.

  3. Add a Multiplier Rate

  4. Enable Half‑Day Charging

  5. Configure your rate.

  6. Save your changes

Hourly multiplier rates are only available when half‑day charging is switched on.

Step 2: Define Hourly Multiplier Rates

  1. For each hour, enter a multiplier value

    • Example:

      • 1 hour → 0.25

      • 2 hours → 0.40

      • 3 hours → 0.55

      • 4 hours (half‑day) → 0.60

  2. Continue defining values up to your half‑day threshold

  3. Review the pricing logic to ensure it scales as expected

  4. Save the rate

These multipliers directly affect how hire charges are calculated for partial‑day rentals

Step 3: Testing Pricing Calculations

  1. Create a test hire contract that isn't open ended

  2. Select a duration that falls within the half‑day window

  3. Review the calculated price by clicking on the total of the order

  4. Confirm the correct hourly multiplier has been applied

This ensures the new pricing behaves as expected before going live.
