What's new
Features, collabs, and remixes often list more than one artist on Spotify, but only one of them is usually the artist the release is meant to build. Before this update, Soundlink always attributed follower growth to whichever artist appeared first on the track — regardless of which artist you were actually trying to grow.
With the Follow Artist Selector, you pick the artist during campaign setup, and every follow your campaign drives is attributed to that artist.
How it works
Start a paid growth campaign for a track that has multiple artists.
On the follow artist step, pick the artist you want the campaign to grow.
Publish your campaign. Follower attribution in Insights reports against the artist you selected.
Good to know
Only applies to tracks with multiple artists. If your track has a single artist, there's nothing to choose — that artist is used automatically.
Set once at campaign creation. Pick the artist on the follow artist step while setting up the campaign.
Visible at a glance. Your campaign dashboard shows a "Following: [artist]" flow so you can confirm the right artist is selected.
Reporting follows your selection. Growth and Insights report follower attribution against whichever artist you picked, not the first artist on the track.
Common questions
Can I change the selected artist after the campaign is live?
The artist is set on the follow artist step during campaign creation. Contact support if you need to change it after your campaign has launched.
Does this affect which artist appears in the ad creative itself?
No, this only controls follower attribution — which artist's profile fans are driven to follow. It doesn't change your creative or caption content.
