Why this matters

Soundlink has always taking the grind out of music marketing. Our mission is simple: automate the technical stuff so you can get back to the music, while still riding that sweet data‑driven wave. By integrating data from Meta ads and Spotify, the platform gives you actionable insights and algorithmic boosts.

The latest evolution of that mission is our Campaign Strategies feature, rolled out on 12 December 2025. It lets you select a proven strategy for each campaign rather than building from scratch every time. Think of it as a playbook for hitting your growth goals—no guesswork, no wasted budget, just results.

What are Campaign Strategies?

Campaign Strategies are predefined sets of rules that shape how your ad budget is allocated, which audiences you target. They’re based on the two core campaign types Soundlink offers today:

  • Track promotion – best when you need that opening blast of engagement for a brand‑new release. This strategy focuses on driving followers, generating streams and triggering Spotify’s recommendation algorithm. It’s ideal for artists looking to build a core following and measure success by the organic streams that come after the ad spend.

  • Playlist promotion – designed to build a long‑term destination for your audience. It aims to grow playlist followers, increase streams per listener and encourage listeners to explore your catalog. It’s our go‑to starting strategy for indie artists and labels, with rules like ensuring each playlist includes at least one track and optimizing the track order based on engagement.

How it works

  1. Pick a campaign type. When you create a new campaign, select Spotify Track or Playlist. We’ll pre‑load the recommended budget split, creative templates and targeting tiers for that strategy.

  2. Review the suggested budget strategy. Our default strategies allocate more budget to high‑performing tiers while still giving lower‑tier markets a chance to deliver. Want to tweak? You can adjust allocations on the fly without breaking the underlying logic—just remember not to gut your top tiers or your ROI will tank faster than a dropped bassline.

  3. Launch and monitor. Once live, our dashboards surface key metrics tied to your chosen strategy: followers gained and streams generated for track campaigns, playlist followers and catalog discovery rates for playlist campaigns. Keep an eye on cost‑per‑result to know when to scale up or pause.

Choosing the right strategy

Not sure which strategy to pick? Here’s the TL;DR:

Use this strategy

When…

Key metrics

Track Promotion

You’ve got a fresh release and need immediate visibility. You care about triggering Spotify’s algorithm and building a follower base quickly.

Followers gained, streams generated, algorithm engagement, cost per follower.

Playlist Promotion

You’re building or growing a playlist as your destination. You want steady, long‑term engagement and catalog discovery.

Playlist saves, streams per listener, catalog discovery rate, cost per listener.

Pro tip: if you’re a new artist just building your audience, start with playlist promotion. It’s forgiving and helps you cultivate a loyal listener base. When you’ve got that killer single ready, switch to track promotion and ride the wave into Spotify’s algorithm.

Looking ahead

Campaign Strategies is our first step toward AI‑driven marketing guidance. In the future expect smarter recommendations that automatically adjust budgets, target new markets and even suggest track swaps. For now, enjoy the freedom to launch campaigns with confidence—because when your marketing is on autopilot, your creativity can truly soar.
