Revision flags are an Enterprise feature that allows for quick tagging and identification of revisions based on user-assigned flags.

Using this feature, revisions can be flagged as incidences, bug-fixes, or through color codes that you can customize for your team.

Flags are purely informational and do not impact the project or underlying DDL in any way.

Set a revision flag

Revision Flags can be assigned from the Revisions menu.

Access Revisions from the main menu of the SqlDBM screen or the project dashboard.

Navigate to Revisions from the main menu of the SqlDBM

Or click on the project sub-menu in the Dashboard and select "Manage revisions."

From the Releases screen, access the sub-menu to bring up the Revision Flags.

Assign or remove flags by clicking on the icons. Users can assign multiple flags to any single revision.

Revision Flag types

The following flag types are available.

º Question

º Fire

º Stop -fail

º Star -favorite

º Blue - development (applied to all revisions by default)

º Green - release

º Yellow - hotfix

º Purple - master

Click on "Compare Revisions" from the left pane to enter the Compare Revisions screen.

Identify Revisions

Notice that the revisions flags set on the Revisions screen are now displayed next to their corresponding revisions in Compare Revisions. Use these flags to quickly discern between relevant revisions.

Filter

Revisions can be filtered from the Revisions page and the Compare Revisions screen.

Compare Revisions

Quickly filter revisions based on their corresponding Revision Flags by scrolling down to the bottom of the "Choose Revisions" pane and clicking on "All Revisions" to bring up the filter menu.

Alternatively, right-click anywhere on the revisions in the Compare Revisions panel, and the filter list will appear.

Note that revisions can also be filtered on associated Jira task types (see related article below.)

Select the revision flags to filter the available revisions.

Revisions screen

Revisions can be similarly filtered on the Revisions screen.

Select "Revisions" from the main SqlDBM menu on the top left.

Related Jira tasks are also visible as icons on the Compare Revisions page to help make it easier to identify individual revisions. As on the Revisions page itself, Jira tasks can also be used to filter the revision list.

Right-click anywhere on the revisions in the Compare Revisions list, and the filter menu will pop up. Tick the desired selection options to filter the list of revisions.

Show and Hide

Show or hide the Revision Flags by scrolling down to the bottom of the "Choose Revisions" pane and clicking on the double-circle icon to enable or disable their display.
